Review: The Almighty Kylie Lip Kits

Okay so these bad boys have finally arrived.

And boy did I nearly buy myself a bottle of Moet to celebrate (okay so maybe that "maybe" isn't really there, and I actually did. That's one secret you'll never know).

Seriously though, the wait was a nail biter.

BUT, they arrived.

So ladies, get comfy & get ready.

For those of you that aren't lucky enough to own one yet, you're going to get the low down on just how amazing these kits are. And for those that do own them, well you can hear what I think about them & then decide whether my opinion is correct & super "dope".

Let's do this.

Swatch Time

Okay so before I begin, I'm going to do a swatch of each kit. I got all 4 of the nudes excluding True Brown (that's more of a burnt nude / dirty nude).

Here they all are swatched on my arm.

(To put it into perspective, I wear Too Faced Born This Way in Ivory mixed with a dash of Light Beige & I have a strong yellow undertone).

From Left to Right: Koko K, Candy K, Dolce K & Posie K

Price Check

So when I purchased my kits the Aussie Dollar was slightly higher than it is now, so what mine cost will vary slightly to what someone else's a week later may have cost or what it would cost to buy them today.

Each Kit = $35

Shipping = $18 (to Australia)

If you were to buy a kit right now, here's what they convert to:

Each Kit = $38

Shipping = $19.50 (to Australia)

Packaging

The packaging is stunning! All ingredients and directions for use are listed on the back where you can also find Kylie cute Signature.

If you're a box hoarder like me, these will definitely find their way into your collection.

I find the bottles are filled with a tonne of product too. Some Lip-glosses & Liquid Lipsticks I own are under-filled which is quite annoying. The bottle design is also very modern & the applicator is an absolute dream. These show stoppers MUST be on display at all times.

Review

Dun dun dun.

This is where I give you my two cents worth & tell you whether I loved them or hated them.

I'm either going to light up your heart or break it....

I honestly don't even know where to begin. I had such high hopes for these Lip Kits & my golly gumdrops did they smash them out of the ball park.

Regardless of whether the ultimate fashionista & beauty guru was behind them, these bad boys are insane.

I have super dry lips at the moment & even when my lips are soft & supple I find liquid lipsticks & matte textured lipsticks so drying. I honestly only ever choose creamy and glossy lipsticks & glosses because matte lipsticks dry me out. However, these lipsticks & lip liners are as smooth & soft as a baby's bottom.

The lipliner itself honestly feels like butter on your lips. It's creamy & it's pigmented. Some liners are so drying and un-pigmented that they usually snap off because I have to press so hard. The liquid lipsticks are the same. It's like putting Vaseline on your lips & even when they dry they feel juicy & plump.

Also, if you're a scent addict like me, then these are the ultimate scent jackpot. Think cupcakes meet vanilla lip smackers (especially if you're a 90s kid).

So utterly perfect.

The bonus for me is that they're cruelty free. I think this is huge step for all animals as Kylie really does have a huge influence on millions of people around the world. All lip kits besides Candy K are also Vegan - another added bonus.

My rating out of 10: 11/10 (+1 bonus for cruelty free).

These kits are like Zac Efron meets Nutella. Crazy I know. (Seriously can you imagine though if that actually happened? I can't think about it for too long or I may find myself on the next flight to the USA with a jar of Nutella & a map of his house).

In all honestly though, I can't fault them. They're worth every penny you pay & actually work out to be more affordable then most high end brands in the same category if you were to buy a lipstick or lipgloss & a lipliner.

My advice: grab one while you still can.

P.S. My current favourite: Dolce K. I love me some dark nude! I may even purchase True Brown.

P.P.S. If you are dying to get your hands on a kit and are struggling going up against 150,000 + girls & guys, then I suggest you check out my previous post. It contains all the tips & tricks you need to successfully get your hands on quite a few of these tubes of gold.

P.P.P.S. Kourt K is on it's way! So I'll be updating this article once it arrives with some photos & new swatches.
