Health Edit: Some Great Food & Exercise Resources

Since turning Vegan, I have become quite obsessed with getting healthy and making sure I'm really conscious about what I'm putting into my body.

This new lifestyle choice has also opened the door for me to various health related ideas that I hadn't accessed before.

I've downloaded numerous fitness and food guides during my journey and have also found some amazing websites that help me live this lifestyle that I've chosen.

With you're vegan, vegetarian, paleo or just a meat eater, you'll get some use out of these resources for sure! (each heading is linked to the site where you can access it from)

Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guides

When I first heard of these guides I wasn't too sure what to think. I had always grown up with the idea in my mind that the only way to lose weight was through cardio and that lifting weights made you into a body builder.

Kayla completely changed my way of thinking and I love her workouts. They're so easy to do and the best part is that you don't even need a membership!

I complete my workouts at home in our entertainment room on one of my sisters gymnastics mats. Or if the suns shining I like to workout outside on the lawn.

You get to create your own gym though which is the best bit.

And the workouts are in 4 x 7 minute circuits with a 30second to 90 second break in between each. So you can slip them into your daily routine easily.

Loni Jane Feel The Lean Ebook

I followed Loni's journey from her first pregnancy after she raised quite a bit of speculation with her pregnancy diet. Loni was actually one of the people who inspired me to change my diet and turn plant based.

Her recipes focus on raw vegan eating and include delicious juices, desserts and bowls of goodness.

If you're looking to cleanse your body or just want to incorporate some raw foods into your diet, this ebook is perfect!

When I first went Vegan my partner and I used to scratch our heads over what to make for dinner or lunch or breakfast.

The initial transition is a difficult one however we just started as simply as possible and would make what we would usually eat but just substitute vegan ingredients for the non-vegan.

As we started to run out of meal ideas and dinners became repetitive, I decided it was time to mix it up and do some research.

This website was the first one I stumbled upon in my quest to find some vegan meals that could replace the tired ones we were constantly making. Her dinner recipes are amazing and if you've got a sweet tooth then this sites the one for you.

The vegan desserts here are endless and so delicious!

This is another site that came in super handy during my vegan transition. This site too includes a huge range of recipes that are so delicious.

The great part is some ingredients aren't solely vegan so if you don't lead a vegan lifestyle then there's some recipes in here for you too.

The key lime pie recipe is amazing and the green chilli vegan mac cheese is so deceiving it's ridiculous!

Hopefully these resources come in handy for you like they have for me!

My Top Rating iPhone Apps

If you own one you'll know the truth to this when I say it - they're always with you.

Whether you're snapchatting your dog in slow motion, taking photos of your delicious raw vegan food for Instagram or stalking you-tuber's Tumblr's to see what they get asked, you always find some way to be on them.

I'm on my phone quite a bit however since deactivating Facebook I've had to fill my phone browsing time with some much needed other apps.

Here's a few of my current top rating iPhone Apps that I have on my phone right now:

1. The Kylie Jenner App

How could I resist. I know, it's definitely no surprise that I have this app installed in my phone.

It's actually a really great app though. I love the content especially the make up tutorials since I've always been obsessed with Kylie's hair and make up.

The dog videos are super cute too and I love the house tours as I feel like I'm getting a sneaky look into her Private life.

2. Kim Kardashian App

Surprise surprise. Another Jenner/Kardashian App makes it into my top faves. Kim's one I downloaded more for solely the make up videos because Mario features in them as well as Joyce and their make up skills are ah-may-zing.

I also love the behind the scenes photos and videos and her pregnancy updates. Plus any extra photos of North are super cute as she's so gorgeous.

3. Podcasts App

This App basically ties with the first 2 only because it allows me to access beneficial information that helps me work on myself.

Whenever I'm feeling a bit unsure about certain topics, I search for a podcast on the app using the phrase I'm concerned about and listen to the one that looks most interesting to me.

I also love downloading podcast episodes that aide in sleeping.

Currently I have a whole meditation podcast channel that covers various topics and feelings and has different meditations to do whilst you're in bed or sitting down.

I also love soothing myself to sleep with ocean sounds and nature sounds such as running streams or pattering rain.

4. iBooks

I'm pretty sure this app comes built into the iPhone but I'm going to feature it regardless.

This app is a hidden gem.

I literally store every book or PDF I get sent or download in here so that I don't have to scroll through emails to find them or store them on my computer.

Currently I have my Kayla Itsines guide, Loni Jane Ebook and a snippet of a book that I mentioned in my books on my bedside table post (here)

5. Sleep Cycle

If you struggle to wake up in the morning or always feel like you've hardly slept the night before when you wake, then this apps for you.

I like to monitor how deeply I sleep during the night so I wanted an app that did that and also acted as an alarm.

This app does both plus more.

It tracks your whole sleep cycle and shows you a chart of how deeply or shallowly you slept during the night and if ever you were half awake.

It also allows you to set an alarm and wakes you when your body is in its lightest stage of sleep which prevents that "I haven't slept" feeling when you wake.

It's super easy to use too. All you do is set an alarm and lie it screen down on your mattress uncovered. That's it.

Easy as pie

6. Koala

This app also links into sleep aid.

If you tend to use your phone right before bed and find that you struggle sleeping afterwards because your mind feels too awake then this app is perfect for you.

Koala uses special lighting to block the "blue light" that radiates off your phone and makes your brain over active. So if you feel like a late night web crawl or need to check your emails before bed, do it through the Koala browser so your mind doesn't go into overdrive.

And there you have it. Some of my current top rating iPhone apps that I have on my phone right now. Hopefully you can get some use out of them too or just relate to them if you already have them!

Fashion Edit: Current Fashionista Obsession

We had WCW (Woman Crush Wednesday) last week - if you missed it you can visit it here - so this week I thought that we could obsess over someone else killing it at the moment.

Plus I released a post already on Wednesday so I missed my chance to use the phrase in true style.

I've decided to pick my current Fashionista obsession.

This is someone who literally can never do wrong.

And even when the media & paparazzi say they have, I ignore them.

Because I love her & think she is stunning.

Ladies and gentlemen I give you, Selena Gomez

Ahh such a fashionista and definite fashion influence! She can do no wrong

The Books On My Beside Table

Normal people stick to one book.

I am however not the average normal person so my beside table is a dumping ground for the various books I am currently reading.

Each book has a different purpose and each will better a certain part of my life. Some are financial. Others are self help books. And then some are just marketing books.

If you're looking to expand your library, I've noted down every book on my beside table and a brief overview of what they're about and how they benefit my life. (I've also included links within the headings so you can grab them from Amazon in the quickest way possible - I know it's very tempting)

1. The Choose Yourself Guide To Wealth by James Altucher
I've listened to a lot of James' podcasts, so when my boyfriend ordered some of his books I was quick to read one before he could.

This isn't your standard "get rich" guide.

It doesn't just focus on monetary wealth but instead focuses on spiritual, mental, physical and emotional wealth and the idea of how once these values are all aligned, then you will be truly wealthy and great things will happen.

I find it super easy to read and incredibly easy to understand and I've already started using some of his tips and tricks in my life.

2. Meatball Sundae by Seth Godin
This is one of my marketing books that I fell in love with.

I've just recently finished it but absolutely loved the writing style and the content.

This is a great book for anyone looking to start up a business or better their current business as it gives out of the box tips and tricks that will really make you stand out.

3. Choose Yourself by James Altucher
So James should be throughly impressed because I do have 2 of his books sitting on my beside.

This one I also recently finished as well.

This book is amazing.

It's definitely a self help book in a way and also a bit of a motivational kick ass book. It has similar themes to #Girlboss by Sophia Amoruso in the sense that it includes some of James' personal journey and the hurdles he had to overcome.

I definitely found that I benefited in all aspects of my life through reading this and it also made me much happier.

James helped me find my Zen place and for that I will be forever grateful.

4. Think and Grow Rich by Napolean Hill
This is an oldie but a goody. I loved reading this book for so many reasons and thats why it's still probably on my bedside table.

One word to describe it would be - enriching.

It teaches you so much about the power of your mind and your ability to will things to you.

A definite must read!

5. Untethered Soul by Michael A Singer
This book is amazing if you're really into spirituality and trying to find balance and peace within your mind, soul & spirit.

It's also amazing if you're going through a tough point in your life and feel like you need to be more in control of yourself.

It's such an eye opener.

I just finished it this morning & I'm going to read it again because I know I'll pick up even more the second time read. And it's such an easy read too!

6. #Girlboss by Sophia Amoruso
I really wanted to add an ass kicking, female written motivational book to my collection.

So I did some research and came across this one.

#Girlboss is written by the owner of the major online boutique Nasty Gal and is a guide to how to change your life and basically go from "rags to riches".

I find it extremely empowering and motivational and find it helps me to get things done as Sophia definitely pushes you to be your best and shows you the rewards that can be reaped from doing so.

So if you're looking for more books to add to your collection that will benefit your life or just like snooping and seeing what books other people are reading then I hope this post benefited you!

Fashion Edit: My Obsession With Camilla

I love love love Camilla.

Whether you're going to the beach, cruising the open ocean with a millionaire, swimming in a private rooftop pool or just prancing around your house, Camilla items are a must have.

Usually I buy from Designer Forum because I love their service and the smell of their stores (the candles they burn are too unfair, they just lure you in!) however I've also found a great online website which takes the hassle out of having to venture out into public. stocks everything from Camilla to Sass & Bide to Spell & The Gypsy Collective to Bec & Bridge & Senso.

It's a heaven send for people who are Designer Forum addicts.

Plus they have an amazing collection of Camilla.

I've include some pictures of my fave Camilla items from their site.

Click on each photo if you want to be redirected to their site!

Don't say I didn't warn you. Their site is a shopaholics trap

My Top Tips For Relaxing

Relaxation is so important.

In a busy world where our mind and body are constantly working 24/7 it's important to have some downtime.

Here's my top tips for relaxing when you feel like your heads about to blow.

Light A Candle or Two

Candles, especially scented candles, bring a sense of relaxation as soon as they're lit especially if they give off a relaxing aroma such as lavender, vanilla or tea tree.

Lighting candles in your room or bathroom can automatically shift the mood, turning it into a relaxing & calm place.
Add Some Music

Music, especially nature sound playlists, are the perfect addition to your relaxation.

Sounds such as waves crashing or raindrops pattering soothe the soul and mind and allow the body to relax into a deep & calm state.

Count Your Breaths

Lying back for a few minutes, closing your eyes and counting your breaths is a great way to automatically zap yourself into the present when you're mind is talking a constant chatter.

It allows you to re group and re focus, bringing your mind and body back to where you are right then.

Take A Break

Pampering yourself a little is a great way to have some time out.

Massages are a perfect way to relax each muscle in your body and allow you to have time out where you don't have to think about anything but the warm oil, delicious smelling candles ....

Mini getaways are a great option too. Having 1 or 2 nights away to a slow paced location such as the Hunter Valley or the beach can allow you to unwind from the fast paced city life.

Have A Warm Shower

If you can't escape to get a massage or enjoy a night away then a quick fix is an amazing shower.

Light some candles, play some soothing music and turn your bathroom into a retreat.

Scented body wash and body oils add the perfect touch.

Writing is a great way to unload everything from your mind.

Writing a journal entry or a short story is a great outlet for any negative or stagnant energy stuck inside the mind and body.

Add A Book To The Mix

Reading is the most soothing thing I find I can do on a lazy Sunday when the rains slowly pattering on the tin roof and the birds are chirping softly and...

Such an amazing feeling just drifting away from the world around you and immersing yourself in a whole different place

Make Up Edit: My Fave Highlighters & Illuminators

I had to write another make up edit (this category is by far my favourite)

Illuminators. Highlighters. Shimmery pretty dust. Whatever you want to call them.

They are the greatest creation that man has ever made.

Whoever thought of covering your face in fairy dust is a genius.

Even on days with no make up, a sprinkle of this glorious pixie dust can make you look fab.

Strobing became a world wide phenomena and with it came some outstanding highlighters & illuminators.

Here's my current faves:

1. MAC Soft & Gentle

2. Anastasia Beverley Hills Illuminator in So Hollywood

3. MAC Strobe Cream

4. Josie Maran Argan Enlightenment Illuminiser

5. Stila All Over Shimmer Liquid Luminiser in Kitten Shimmer

6. The Balm Mary Lou-Maniser

7. BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfecter
