My Top Tips For Relaxing

Relaxation is so important.

In a busy world where our mind and body are constantly working 24/7 it's important to have some downtime.

Here's my top tips for relaxing when you feel like your heads about to blow.


Light A Candle or Two

Candles, especially scented candles, bring a sense of relaxation as soon as they're lit especially if they give off a relaxing aroma such as lavender, vanilla or tea tree.

Lighting candles in your room or bathroom can automatically shift the mood, turning it into a relaxing & calm place.
Add Some Music

Music, especially nature sound playlists, are the perfect addition to your relaxation.

Sounds such as waves crashing or raindrops pattering soothe the soul and mind and allow the body to relax into a deep & calm state.




Count Your Breaths

Lying back for a few minutes, closing your eyes and counting your breaths is a great way to automatically zap yourself into the present when you're mind is talking a constant chatter.

It allows you to re group and re focus, bringing your mind and body back to where you are right then.


Take A Break

Pampering yourself a little is a great way to have some time out.

Massages are a perfect way to relax each muscle in your body and allow you to have time out where you don't have to think about anything but the warm oil, delicious smelling candles ....

Mini getaways are a great option too. Having 1 or 2 nights away to a slow paced location such as the Hunter Valley or the beach can allow you to unwind from the fast paced city life.





Have A Warm Shower

If you can't escape to get a massage or enjoy a night away then a quick fix is an amazing shower.

Light some candles, play some soothing music and turn your bathroom into a retreat.

Scented body wash and body oils add the perfect touch.




Write

Writing is a great way to unload everything from your mind.

Writing a journal entry or a short story is a great outlet for any negative or stagnant energy stuck inside the mind and body.




Add A Book To The Mix

Reading is the most soothing thing I find I can do on a lazy Sunday when the rains slowly pattering on the tin roof and the birds are chirping softly and...

Such an amazing feeling just drifting away from the world around you and immersing yourself in a whole different place
